XANDEM's powerful new technology (known as "tomographic motion detection and localization" or "radio tomography") detects and locates the movement of people within buildings. Typical applications include security, smart-building automation, energy efficiency, elder care, safety, and more. The technology senses the movement of a person’s body, so no device needs to be worn by those being detected and located. It does not identify who is moving, nor does it provide visual details like a video camera.
The tracking accuracy a correctly-installed XANDEM system is typically within about 5-10 feet of error. Accuracy can be increased by either using more nodes, or by decreasing the total size of the detection area. Multiple areas of motion can be tracked at the same time, as long as the space between movements exceeds approximately 10-15 feet. Results can vary based on the density of the walls/obstructions in the area. Read this page for typical kit sizes and coverage areas.
